“The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.  People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.  Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”

About Thom Estilow

Thom has lived in the same home located in Cheltenham Township's 5th Ward for 31 Years.  Born in South Jersey, he was raised with his sister by working-class parents that believed in the value of hard work, teamwork, perseverance & the pursuit of the American Dream.

Thom excelled in academics and athletics while growing up.  Graduating from Newark High School in Delaware, and a member of the varsity football, wrestling & baseball teams.  He helped lead his football team to the state championship game in his senior year & was selected to play in the prestigious Delaware Blue-Gold All-Star Game that benefits Special Needs citizens.

Following high school, he attended nearby Widener University where he graduated with a bachelors degree in engineering & helped lead the football team to the small college NCAA National Championship.  Thom was the first member of his family to receive a college degree.  Following graduation, Thom enrolled in a dual-degree executive MBA/Engineering program while he was employed full-time as an electronics design engineer.  He was also an assistant varsity football coach at Mt. Pleasant High School in Delaware.

Thom has been active in community affairs; serving on several non-profit Boards of Directors and always ready to volunteer to help a worthy cause.

Thom was 27 years old when he started his first business.  Since then, he has continuously owned & operated small business enterprises located in Montgomery County.  Thom believes, "Local businesses are the backbone of every community; creating jobs that support families and reducing the property tax burden of homeowners.  By their nature, small businesses can only operate effectively by managing payroll & facilities expenses, eliminating debt, and controlling costs and spending.  It is my belief that the principles & philosophies of running a small business translate directly to managing operations & budgets at the local government level.

Adding to Thom's lofty achievements, his 1977 NCAA National Champion Football Team will be inducted into Widener University's Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2017.  What an honor for him and his teammates.

I am running for office in 2017 to become your Township Finance Officer; to provide my fiscal expertise to Cheltenham Township."
