WHY AM I THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP FINANCE OFFICER?

SUPPORTING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS

I ACCEPT YOUR NOMINATION

What's happening in our community

Cheltenham Township, Jenkintown Borough and Springfield Township

Pennsylvania House Legislative District 154

To my surprise enough Cheltenham Township voters wrote-in my name on their ballots on Primary Election Day 2021 for the Office of Cheltenham Township Finance Officer.  I am flattered and honored and I accept your nomination.  By accepting your nomination, my name will appear on everyone's ballot on Election Day 2021.

The Cheltenham Township Finance Officer is really the Tax Collector.  I believe this is the most important Office in local government & requires a public servant of the highest ethical standards.  I am far and away the most qualified candidate to hold this office & it will be my privilege to serve my fellow Cheltenham Township citizens.

In these troubling times when our best & bravest are under attack by our fellow citizens, we will always choose Patriotism over all else.  Part of our Patriotic duty is to support those whose jobs are to defend us at all costs.

#2- COMPARE THE CANDIDATES BACKGROUNDS

When you compare my background to my opponent’s the contrasts are striking. Both of us have served in noble occupations throughout our careers. Only one of us has a 30-year track record of serving as a Corporate Finance Officer responsible for Accounts Receivables among other duties.

CORPARATE FINANCE OFFICER
I founded, owned & operated multiple business enterprises with millions of dollars of annual revenues for over three decades serving as CFO and Treasurer. Among other duties, I was responsible for Accounts Receivables & Accounts Payables. I can unequivocally state that when my firms received remittances they would be deposited on the same day.

TREASURER FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
I currently serve as Treasurer for two organizations that have filed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The duties involve Accounts Receivables & Payables along with regular reporting to Pennsylvania Department of State & Montgomery County.

I have previously served as Treasurer for two organizations filed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a non-profit organization in Philadelphia with annual revenues exceeding $2.5 Million.

PENNSYLVANIA ACT 48 CERTIFIED TAX COLLECTOR
In 2017, I received Certification as a Pennsylvania Act 48 Tax Collector.

#1- 100% OF PERSONAL EARNED INCOME WILL BE USED TO AUTOMATE TAX OFFICE

When elected, I will use every earned dollar to improve the automation of Cheltenham Township’s Tax Office.

I will create a separate personal bank account & will keep accounting on every expenditure and will welcome an audit at any time for anyone. One hundred percent of my personal income earned from serving as Finance Officer will be used to automate our Tax Office.

IMPROVEMENTS BADLY NEEDED

UPDATE ANTIQUATED SOFTWARE & COMPUTERS

The software used by the Cheltenham Township Tax Office has been in existence for decades. I will work with the Montgomery County Treasurer to standardize Tax Collection software for streamlined billing and reporting.

DEPOSIT TAX COLLECTIONS IMMEDIATELY
If you are like me you are wondering why it takes so long for the Tax Office to deposit our payments. Most recently I remitted my Real Estate Tax payment in-person. It took eight days for my payment to clear. Anyone who has served as a Finance Officer or in an Accounts Receivables Department understands the effects of an extended float. Especially when collections are in the tens of millions or more. On my first day the Tax Office will use a Check Scanner to immediately deposit collections to the bank.

COLLECT EIT FROM PHILADELPHIA FOR WORKERS WHO WORK FROM HOME
Almost half of Cheltenham Township’s Wage Earners work in Philadelphia. The pandemic resulted in many of our wage earners to work from home. Even so, Philadelphia collected Earned Income Tax from Cheltenham Township residents. Immediately upon being sworn in to Office I will work to recapture our Township’s fair share of the EIT.
